IELTS Speaking test - Part III
Topic: Famous people and family members.

IELTS Speaking Famous people and family members
Famous people and family members topic

- What do you think about being famous?

I think to many people including myself, being famous is something desirable. Popularity helps to boost businesses, so a famous person tends to make more money than an ordinary person. Also, it’s nice to be liked and admired by others.

- How do you think the family members of a famous person feel?

It depends. Some tend to feel very proud of having a famous person in their family because, more often than not, they themselves receive some public’s attention too. But, in other cases, family members of a well-known person can find the situation pretty annoying.

- How can it affect them? Why?

I suppose it gets to them in the same way as it does to the famous person himself or herself. They are likely to be recognized in public and their behaviors become the subject of gossip and social judgment.

IELTS Speaking test - Topic: Rewarding employees

IELTS Speaking test - Topic: Rewarding employees

- Do you think employers should reward their employees more?

I definitely think employers should improve incentives for people who work for them. This will motivate the employees to take on more responsibility at work and be more dedicated to what they do for the company. Besides, it’s important for the workers to feel that their hard work is recognized and appreciated, so that they can put more effort into their job.

- How do you think they should do it?

There are several ways for employers to provide recognition of the good work of their staff. They can allow the deserving individuals either more flexible work hours or longer vacation days. Another way to show appreciation is to increase the income of those who contribute more to the company.

* Task 1 là Bar Chart về a European country's entertainment spending in 1998 and 2008

* Task 2:
Societies benefit from the increased contact and closer relationship with foreigners brought by international tourism and businesses. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The world today is characterized by the free flow of information and commodity. The frequent interaction and growing interdependence among countries have ended the days of regional isolation and absolute national sovereignty, but they have also sparked off heated controversies over the positive and negative impacts that a global culture can bring into our life.

Some people say that the widening international exchanges, both in the field of business and culture, have exerted positive influences to a nation as well as its people. To begin with, they promote business cooperation among nations. For example, large multinational companies spread the latest technologies and experience around the world, and international trade has helped so many less developed economies grow. Also, they enrich people’s lives because people of one nation are given opportunities through international tourism, exhibition and fairs, TV programmes and films, etc. to enjoy the achievements of other cultures across the globe.

However, other people argue that these conditions also create the possible danger of undermining a country’s national identity. In the first place, traditional cultures might fall victim a global media and entertainment force. This is the most evident in some parts of the world where “Americanisation” is threatening the preservation of their indigenous culture. In Viet Nam, for instance, few youngsters like or understand “Hue Court Music”, the quintessence of Vietnamese culture; they go for Hollywood movies and rock music instead. Moreover, in the process of globalization, the world is getting less linguistically diverse, as a growing number of people give up their native language for the dominant language in the world – English.

From my point of view, both arguments are the true reflections of the possible consequence of an increasing economic and cultural interaction among nations. It boosts economic integration and speeds up modernization but also creates tensions between global culture and a country’s national identity. Therefore, we should take the initiative in fighting to protect our distinct culture and identity from being submerged by other cultural or economic influences.

IELTS Speaking test - September 2014 - Task 1

Topic: Food preferences
- What are your routine eating habits?
I guess my eating habits are not as healthy as they are supposed to be. Normally I don’t have enough time to make breakfast because my classes start early at 7am, so I just grab some snacks on the way to school. For lunch, my friends and I usually eat fast food at school canteen. Dinner is actually my biggest meal of the day.
- Do you eat fast food regularly?
I do eat Western fast food very often because it’s a quick way to fill up my stomach between classes. I know people tend to have negative attitude towards fast food but they eat it anyway. Not only does it taste good but it also helps me save time and energy for other things.
- What type of food do you like the most? Why?
My favorite kind of food is definitely Vietnamese traditional food such as pho – noodles or nem – spring rolls. They are tasty and healthy at the same time because they are usually made with plenty of vegetables, organic meat and flavored with fresh herbs and spices. Preparing those dishes take time, though.
- Did your food preferences change since you were a child?
My food likes and dislikes have changed a lot since childhood. When I was a child, I was more likely to eat fatty food, sweet-tasting snacks and beverages, which I’m no longer attracted to as an adult. I also tend to base my preferences on the nutritional values of food now instead of ignoring them like I did years ago.

IELTS Writing Test 06/09/2014

Topic: As major cities in the world are growing today, so do their problems. What are problems for young people who are living in the cities as the result of continued growth? How problems might be solved?

Essay 1:
Nowadays, city life has brought people so many comforts that rural life cannot offer. However, coming with such benefits are also setbacks that potentially affect young urban residents’ health to great extent. This essay will focus on discussing these issues and suggesting feasible solutions to this dilemma.
First of all, the often-hectic lifestyles and increasing youth unemployment in the cities are more likely to cause both mental and physical health of young adults to deteriorate. More than ever, modern society is witnessing striking increase in the number of people diagnosed with stress, anxiety disorders or depression. Another trouble that may spring from those mental illnesses is the tendency to overuse addictive substance to release social pressure. This could be a trigger to a much bigger matter involving illegal activities, which would threaten the society’s safety generally. Not only do young city dwellers lead a more intense life, they also lead a more sedentary lifestyle. A rising rate of adolescent obesity is a clear example of the result of urban non-active lifestyle.
The question as to how to tackle all the aforementioned problems is still a conundrum to many governments. It is suggested that in order to improve the mental health of adolescents, young people should be educated about how to maintain a good state of mental health. Teachers and parents should also be invited to give thorough career guidance to their students and children to help them avoid unnecessary shock or stress from getting a job after graduation. Moreover, governments have now joined forces with non-profit organisations and activists to promote the benefits of physical exercise, which will hopefully see more teenagers in metropolitan areas getting engaged in active lifestyles.
In conclusion, it is fair to say that there will not be a single best solution to the issues encountered by young people living in the city. However, by advocating active lifestyles and educating young people about the importance of stable mental health, the governments will be likely to alleviate the problems in long term.

đề thi speaking ielts 2014

Task 2: Describe a time when you had to wait for someone

Task 3:

- The value of waiting
- Why are there people who are more patient than others?
- Do you think that it is good being kept waiting?
- Compare between waiting for a friend and waiting for service
- Being kept waiting for a thing

Task III thực sự không dễ nói nhất là câu thứ hai: Why are there people who are more pantient than the others?

Some people think that introducing new technology can improve people’s quality of life in the developing countries. However, others believe that free education should be offered. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.?
